Privacy Policy

This policy explains which personal data we process when you use the l2utopia.com website and the Utopia game server, why we do it and what rights you have, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).

2. What data we process

When you visit the website

The website is static and hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It has no forms, no accounts, no visitor analytics and no advertising. Cloudflare processes the technical data of the connection (IP address, browser type, pages requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

When you open the Discord

The Discord link leads to an external service, which processes your data under its own policy.

Game accounts and donations, once available

Account name, email address, password (stored only as a hash, never in plain text), IP address and server connection data, game activity logs needed to enforce the Server Rules. For donations, the transaction data provided by [payment provider]: we do not store payment card data.

3. Why we process it

• to provide the Service and manage your account (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR);
• to keep the server secure and fight bots and scams (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f));
• to meet legal obligations, such as tax obligations tied to donations (Art. 6(1)(c)).

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. Only the providers the Service needs process it on our behalf: Cloudflare (website), Hetzner (game server, in Germany), [payment provider] (donations). We disclose it to authorities only when the law requires it.

5. Transfers outside the European Union

Cloudflare may process data outside the European Union, with the safeguards the GDPR provides (standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

6. How long we keep it

• technical data of website visits: as long as Cloudflare keeps it;
• account data: while the account is active, and for [period] after it is closed;
• game logs: [period];
• donation data: as long as tax law requires.

7. Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest, by writing to info@l2utopia.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, in Italy the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

8. Minors

The Service is only for people aged 18 or over. If we find that an account belongs to a minor, we close it and delete its data.

9. Security

Access to the data is limited to the staff who need it, the server database cannot be reached from the internet and passwords are stored only as a hash, never in plain text.

10. Changes

This policy may be updated; the date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
